Salutations. My name is Laura and I am the author of this here blog, A Homing Beacon.
I am a small town lady and I adore country fields, calico prints, the symphonic chorus of frogs and crickets, big hair, pine plank floors, starched linens, vintage dresses, autumn, apple crisp, hugs, family loyalty, and belly laughs. I am occasionally anxious, usually shy, and always daydreaming.
This name of this blog refers to the literal homing beacon – a communication device designed to help find a person or a thing. I wish for this blog to do something similar – to bring home something essential through communication. To draw closer my desires and fears through words and images.
Maybe you will read something on here that you can identify with. That would be nice.
